Hello folks! If anyone is interested in the original Ilikai range, in the original beautiful Ilikai turquoise color, here is your chance! It is the original, rare-to-find 26-inch width. In top condition and works flawlessly. If interested, please e-mail me (olga@ilikaiowners.com). As you (may or may not) know, they do not make stove/ranges in that width any more. GE actually makes (only) one version, but it is ugly and over $1,000. So the Ilikai’s 26-inch stove would be a total bargain.

Specifically, they are looking for a home swap for summer 2011. They have beautiful 2/3 bedroom apartments, oceanfront, all newly decorated and recently built in Puerto Aventuras in the heart of Riviera Maya Mexico, one-hour drive from Cancun. They are a family of four (two adults and two young children). They have stayed at the Ilikai before and love it, that is why they would be interested in a home swap of their Riviera Maya Mexico home with an Ilikai homeowner. I get quite regularly contacted by folks who are looking for a unit to rent, or something to sell, or things of that nature, i.e., bulletin-type items. I do not rent anything.

In any event. I will try to jump-start a Bulletin on this site. I’ve got to figure out IT-wise how to do it so that it goes to the Bulletin page. But for the time being, here we go.

This particular reader has contacted me multiple times. He really would like to rent a 1-BR unit at the Ilikai, because he really likes our building. He claims to be a responsible senior citizen from Seattle (I do not know the person; but judging by the way he writes he does come across as a responsible senior citizen). He claims that he has no plans for any major cooking, no parties or anything like that, and he will maintain the unit. His tentative travel plans are between mid-March through mid-April, i.e., circa one month. No overly strong preferences for which side of the building, but on a (relatively) tight budget. As said, he has written multiple times to me, as he seems to really want to stay here. If you have a unit to rent, please either e-mail me with “Renter info” in the subject matter so that I can forward it to him, or post it here in the comments section.

I get quite a few queries from readers, such as looking to rent a condo, or a contractor, or a bridge player, or selling a couch, etc. It is usually hard for me to help with those because I don’t play bridge, I don’t rent condos, don’t need a couch and don’t know anyone who does, etc.
