Biography

Dr. Sara Gifford has been drawn to Âé¶¹AV's mission-oriented curriculum since her time as a student in the McAuley School of Nursing. Prior to joining the faculty, she served with the Student Success Center and the STAR Center Simulation Team, where she developed a passion for engagement, collaboration and innovation in healthcare education. Dr. Gifford currently serves as an assistant professor, primarily teaching pre-licensure nursing students with a focus on fundamentals, pharmacology and NCLEX preparation. She serves as a faculty liaison for virtual reality and artificial intelligence integration within the College of Health Professions STAR Center and sits on the College of Health Professions Innovation Team.

Dr. Gifford earned her DNP, MSN and BSN from Detroit Mercy and is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist with 10 years of clinical practice experience in adult critical care and medical-surgical environments. She has published various projects related to well-being, engagement and innovation in both clinical and academic settings.
